We regret to announce that Yuri Temirkanov is indisposed due to ill health and will therefore be unable to perform with the St Petersburg Philharmonic during their forthcoming UK tour.

We are delighted that Vassily Sinaisky, who has enjoyed a long and successful relationship with the St Petersburg Philharmonic, has agreed to replace Yuri Temirkanov to conduct the orchestra for all of their performances in January and February 2019.

Tchaikovsky Swan Lake Suite
Prokofiev Piano Concerto No.1
Tchaikovsky Symphony No.5

With its sheer power, burning intensity and inimitable woodwind sound, the St Petersburg Philharmonic is probably the finest Russian orchestra in the world. So any chance to hear them play Prokofiev – let alone Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony – is a special occasion.
